DIY questions

Before you climb the ladder

Is DIY installation hard?

If you're comfortable on a ladder and can drive a screw, you can install gutter mesh. A typical single-storey home takes a weekend. Tile roofs need no drilling at all, the mesh tucks under the second tile course. Metal roofs use saddles screwed to the roof sheet.

What tools do I need?

A cordless drill with a hex driver, tin snips or scissors for trimming mesh, a ladder, and gloves. That's it. The kit includes all screws and fixings.

How do I know how many metres to order?

Walk your gutter line and measure it, or just give us your address and we'll measure your roofline from satellite imagery for free before confirming your kit.

Is the warranty the same as a professional install?

The product warranty on mesh and components applies either way. The 15-year workmanship warranty only applies when our team does the install, that part covers our labour, not yours.

What if I start and can't finish?

Call us. Our crews can complete a partly finished DIY job, and you only pay for the labour portion.

Install instructions

Tile roof mesh installation, step by step

The same five steps printed in your kit. Watch the video demonstrations above before you start.

1

Prepare

Clean the gutter of any leaves and debris to ensure a clear surface.

2

Position mesh

Place the mesh over the gutter so it sits flat and covers the gutter opening.

3

Tuck under tile

Slide the top edge of the mesh under the second row of tiles to secure in place.

4

Secure to gutter

Fix the mesh to the front lip of the gutter using screws or clips at intervals.

5

Complete

The mesh is now secure, allowing water to flow through while keeping leaves and debris out.

Metal or corrugated roof? Your kit uses profile-matched saddles instead of the tile tuck: saddles screw to the roof sheet to hold the top edge, and the gutter edge is fixed the same way. Full printed instructions for your roof type come with every kit, and our install team is a phone call away on 0468 054 057.
